Welcome to PhD Net, our online graduate student community!
Please let me introduce myself: my name is Dora Farkas, and I am the Founder of PhDNet, www.phdnet.org, a growing online community for graduate students. I founded this community shortly after publication of my book, “The Smart Way to Your Ph.D: 200 Secrets from 100 Graduates”, which is based on interviews with 100 recent graduates, as well as graduate school deans and career counselors.
As a former graduate student (MIT, PhD’04), I know how challenging graduate school can be, and my mission is to help graduate students overcome these hurdles so they can get their thesis on track and find PhD-level jobs.
In addition to writing my book, I publish free monthly newsletters (http://www.phdnet.org/phdnews.html), and also contribute to online communities such as Gradshare.com and Benchfly.com.
